Who is James & Ruth Lesure, AKA Sweetie 1 & 2?

It's Simple: My sweetie (James) transitioned on February 21, 2021.  We were blessed to celebrate 60 years of marriage.

For many years, couples sought us out for marital advice, and we were eager to share information with them.  

In 1998 we were introduced to Pastors Tony & Kim Moore, who had a marriage ministry called "Radical Love."

We were invited to attend the ministry and thought it would be a good idea because we were giving information to couples, and we thought this would enhance our knowledge.  However, as we started to learn we realized that it was no accident that we were taking the class.  Although, our marriage was good, we realized that for many years, we had been sweeping unresolved issues under the rug—a true eye-opener. 

To say the least, we lived in Conyers, Georgia, and the class was in Buford, Georgia.  We put so many miles on our car but did not miss a class.

After graduating, we began teaching a class in 1999 and have continued without interruption to this day. Although Sweetie has transitioned, I remain committed as the Senior Adviser, supported by many dedicated couples who faithfully minister alongside me.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of ministering to hundreds of couples. By God's grace, many marriages have been saved and renewed, and all the glory belongs to God. For more than 25 years, we have remained fully committed to the mission of this ministry and its many demands.

I am just saying to myself, this is a long story, but I could not shorten it.  This era of our story has ended but a new birth has taken place.

In January 2024, God spoke to me, saying there is still much work to be done as marriages are becoming more complex than ever. He said, “I need you to start a brand-new ministry, change the name, create a new curriculum, but remain rooted in the same Godly principles.”

I am happy to say that our new name is "Radical Foundation for Marriages Ministry."

Do I wish Sweetie was here to witness the change, YES? I do know that I feel his spirit, his amazing touch, his presence, and his words, saying, "SWEETIE, you can do it, and I am so PROUD of you!"  I trust that the anointed couples in this ministry will continue allowing God to lead and guide them, bringing peace and harmony to the many couples who will seek this ministry and its journey for years to come.
